Review: K-ON!! 21
Last week's episode of K-ON!! had a rather solemn tone, making viewers teary-eyed as the HTT girls finished their final festival together. With this in mind, the next episode could have had any tone imaginable. It could have kept the serious, dramatic feel of the school festival, or shifted back to the lighthearted but ultimately pointless moe fluff that made this show so infamous.
Sad to say, they decided to go with the latter. It reminds me of a previous annoying filler episode a few weeks back. However, this episode was far more entertaining then that disaster, with the jokes being good and the interactions spot on. Of course, since I'm an evil hater critic who loathes all things good and pure, I still had some problems with it. My main complaint is that the episode doesn't bring anything new or interesting to the table... just more predictable moeblobbery that fails to surprise anyone. With only five episodes remaining, can they really afford to be wasting time with this kind of filler?

Review: K-ON!! 20
Finally! This is the K-ON!! episode fans have been waiting for! With the last two episodes being possibly my favorites of the entire season thus far, I had rather high expectations for this one. Could it maintain the great character-based comedy that made the last two so enjoyable?
I heard this episode actually moved some people to tears, and it's easy to see why. It was one of the best and most heartfelt episodes of the second season. However, its sluggish pacing kept it from being perfect. In particular, Yui's long "thank you" monologue just drags on for what felt like hours. Despite this, the jokes were humorous, the music was excellent and the camaraderie between the girls was as entertaining as ever. Overall, a solid episode with a few minor flaws.

Review: K-ON!! 18 & 19
After K-ON!! 17's disappointment, I wasn't holding out much hope for the next few episodes. I was expecting more mindless filler and pointless moeblob antics. Boy, was I in for a surprise. The episode 18 and 19 two-parter totally blew me away. I'd dare say these are my favorite episodes of the entire second season. It was an amazing feeling seeing this return to glory for the HTT girls, especially after the crap we've been fed the past few weeks. The jokes are great, the character interactions are spot-on and, for once, the show actually had a overarching plot. Oh, and the girls FINALLY practice too! Who knew K-ON!! could redeem itself so quickly?

K-ON!’s Weirdest Merchandise

Wanna look your best at work with Mio!
According to a recent article from ANN, the K-ON! merchandising juggernaut has made 1.8 billion yen in the last three months. That's approximately $20 million USD, and that doesn't even include the video sales and licensing rights for the anime or CDs. It's not on par with merchandising juggernauts like Star Wars or Gundam, but it's still pretty impressive.
But out of all this merchandise, there are a few products that are rather... bizarre. Let's take a look at those odd and ridiculous accessories that really make people scratch their heads and beg the question,"What were they thinking?"

Review: K-ON!! 17
After last week's slight disappointment, I was hoping that this week's episode of K-ON!! would be an improvement. Thankfully, it did succeed to some extent, but there were some noticeable problems in it. This episode felt like a giant tease, making us think the girls would stop procrastinating and actually practice for once. How foolish of me to get my hopes up; they spend the whole episode goofing off yet again, not getting a damn thing accomplished. But despite that, I somehow still ended up not hating this. The inherent moeblob charm that kept me sane throughout the more aggravating scenes. It's one of those,"not bad but not good either." episodes, in my opinion.

Review: Seitokai Yakuindomo 4
After last week's episode of Seitokai Yauindomo showed signs of improvement, I was hoping the next one would continue this trend. Unfortunately, like a sick twist of fate, this week's episode reverted back to the subpar quality of the first two--rife with overused innuendos, juvinile humor, abominably bad storytelling and nonexistant character development. It was a huge punch in the stomach to watch this disaster after I was so impressed with last week's episode. It pains me to do this, but it's time for me to pull out my good ol' ranting stick of nerd rage.

Review: K-ON!! 16
I've been quite enthusiastic about K-ON!! lately. Every episode since 13 has been good, and I was especially hyped after last week's enjoyable offering. Sadly, this week I was in for a disappointment. While the latest episode wasn't necessarily bad, I didn't enjoy it all that much. Sure, it had some really cute moments in it, but I feel that the plot was far too repetitive. It relied all too much on the cuteness, eschewing any meaningful plot or character development. The end result was an episode that was a bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't exactly bad... but it wasn't very good either.

Review: Seitokai Yakuindomo 3
So, this is it. You're probably expecting me to completely and utterly trash this episode of Seitokai Yakuindomo, based on my rather low opinion of the show thus far. You're ready to see me go completely insane with anger and nerd rage from the bombardment of overused sex jokes, bad pacing, bland characters, and various other kinds of crap. Unbelievably, that is not the case. Yes, you read that last sentence correctly. This week's episode was actually... good. Don't believe me? Well, keep reading to find out more...
Review: K-ON!! 15
After a rather awesome episode of K-ON!! last week, I honestly wasn't sure what to expect this time. Would I be bored out of my skull with some more eye candy filler similar to episode 13, or would this show manage to maintain it's wit and humor? Thankfully, this week's episode wasn't a disappointment; it was just as good--if not better--than last week's. The comedy was entertaining, the story solid and the characters as enjoyable as ever.

Review: Seitokai Yakuindomo 2
From my last review, you can clearly see that I'm trying my best to give Seitokai Yakuindomo a chance. However, the second episode did little to improve my opinion of this show. That's not to say it was a complete flop; there were some ups, and by that I mean "a few funny jokes." Sadly, these jokes aren't funny enough to make up for a complete lack of plot, unbelievably boring characters and humor that's starting to wear thin. But without further ado, lets get to the review.
