Today we have this nifty little AMV created by Rei, set to Fude Pen ~Ballpoint Pen~. I think it does a great job of profiling K-On!’s prevalent mise en scène. Enjoy!

Empire Suggests Britney For Ailing Stormtroopers
In an apparent move to raise the esprit de corps, the Empire has made it mandatory for Stormtroopers to undergo dance therapy. We have already seen Stormtroopers take to the streets of Tokyo and eagerly dance the Carmelldansen, or mime the OP to K-On!, much to the delight of Empire psychiatrists. Ever a Britney Spears fan, this soldier is ready and willing to show off his moves to the pop stars single “Circus”, albeit in the comfort of his own home and not in the way of peak hour traffic.
The Empire commends you, Soldier! You are working hard to make your workplace a more positive environment! This way you will live to lose another battle with the Rebel scum another day!
Vocaloid Meets K-On! and World Domination Ensues
It had to happen, didn’t it? Sooner or later a MAD would appear that would combine the fan(atic) groups of people who love K-On! and Vocaloid. This fan-made vid stars Hatsune Miku, Rin, Len, and Megurine Lukka of Vocaloid fame singing the popular OP of the K-On! series ‘Cagayake! Girls’. I might point out the obvious and say that they are not only just singing, but have completely replaced Mio, Yui, Mugi and Ritsu (ignoring Azusa) in this version. If successful, this marriage of the two fangroups (Vocaloid x K-On!) will lead to massive internet propagation, fan hysteria, mass foaming at the mouth, rioting, and I am afraid to say, world domination.
Watch this space, it may become a last safe haven…

Iiwake Maybe
The lovely ladies at AKB48 have graced us with another single entitled Iiwake Maybe. This new song is all about the healing power of… bicycle races? Yeah, I’m confused too. Regardless, a catchy tune and cute Japanese girls make for another winning music video from our favorite theater group. (Note: The song starts at around 1:55.)
Yamakan and Vocaloid Join Forces
Yamamoto Yutaka, the famous director of the first Haruhi season, as well as his studio Ordet, have announced that they are producing an “anime project” for the Vocaloid song Black Rock Shooter. Although the format of the project is unrevealed, speculation is leaning towards an animated music video for the song. The anime is due for release next April, although a “pilot version” will be released on September 30th. This pilot release, which includes a CD single and a booklet with anime artwork, also includes a DVD (or Blu-ray) that may contain a preview of the anime.
Here are some screenshots from the project, which can also be viewed on the Black Rock Shooter website.
Palette World Breakdown
This Miku MAD, which features an emo version of everybody’s favorite vocaloid, has been gaining popularity on Nico Nico Douga recently. The visuals are particularly impressive, putting most recent live-action JPop videos to shame.

Aya Hirano: Super Driver Music Video
Here’s a bright note in an otherwise dismal Haruhi day. Aya’s overly cute, the music is excellent. The video itself … I’ll let you be the judge.
Nanchatte Ren’ai
Morning Musume’s new single, Nanchatte Ren’ai, was released today. The music video comes in both a “Close-up Version” and a “Dance Shot Version”, the latter of which you can watch below.
AKB48 On Music Fighter
Japanese theater/pop group AKB48 recently appeared on Music Fighter, and did a live version of their new single Namida Suprise. Although the singing isn’t quite as good as the PV version, it does feature some nice dancing… and lots of cute girls.

Additionally, there is now a version of Namida Suprise with poorly done subtitles, which can be found here.
SOS Brigade Seitenkan Video Debut
Our British Haruhi friends, the SOS Brigade Seitenkan, have given us a taste of what they have planned in the near future. This first video is their rendition of Bouken Desho Desho, done in a style that brings to mind “The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00”. Also included is a nicely choreographed Hare Hare Yukai.
