Vocaloid Meets K-On! and World Domination Ensues

It had to happen, didn’t it? Sooner or later a MAD would appear that would combine the fan(atic) groups of people who love K-On! and Vocaloid. This fan-made vid stars Hatsune Miku, Rin, Len, and Megurine Lukka of Vocaloid fame singing the popular OP of the K-On! series ‘Cagayake! Girls’. I might point out the obvious and say that they are not only just singing, but have completely replaced Mio, Yui, Mugi and Ritsu (ignoring Azusa) in this version. If successful, this marriage of the two fangroups (Vocaloid x K-On!) will lead to massive internet propagation, fan hysteria, mass foaming at the mouth, rioting, and I am afraid to say, world domination.

Watch this space, it may become a last safe haven…

Negima: Another World

The second trailer for Magical Teacher Negima: Another World, a four-episode direct-to-dvd OVA, was recently revealed. Like last year’s Negima: The White Wing, this release will be an exceedingly faithful adaptation of the Magic World arc of the manga. However, whereas The White Wing focused on the fanservice-oriented chapters,  Another World looks a good deal more action packed. Personally, I’m looking forwards to seeing Fate Averruncus fight…

Although the animation isn’t anything to write home about, it’s nice to see a Ken Akamatsu work finally getting a halfway decent anime adaptation.

The series will be released on a DVD included with the 27th volume of the Negima manga, which hits Japanese bookshelves on September 17th.

Ponyo: Japanese Soundtrack vs. English Pop

Disney, being the marketing geniuses executive meddlers that they are, have decided to record their own pop version of the theme song from Hayao Miyazaki’s new film Ponyo. The final product, which makes use of the vocal “talents” of Frankie Jonas and Noah Cyrus, as well as heavy manipulation by Auto-Tune, can be heard in the comparison video below.

Endless Eight in Twenty Minutes!

The arc may have ended, but the aftershocks continue….

While hardcore fans are most definitely going to buy all of the four Endless Eight DVDs, some people may point out that each DVD contains only two episodes; that each DVD will be retailing for $70 USD apiece; and that overall they say each DVD is a complete and utter waste of money until a box set comes out.

But not us at Project Haruhi! No siree!
