Because the American dollar is currently worth less than the Canadian dollar?
Actually, I haven't done the math with Australian exchange rates and import fees - it was just a stab at how my country's economy is foundering.

Go to VN even make it more expensive. +200 buck? no way man

well at the moment AU$1 = 92.6 american cents, so not much difference there, you would lose that cost benefit (if any) in the shipping. Sony are pretty tight anyways; as mentioned you'd probably would find that PS3 costs are constant around the world

40G model retails for $400US. Unless you think you'll pop $200AU on shipping...

Also just played 'army of 2' on PS3 ~co-op, lots of fun, but thats out on 360 too
They are prone to overheating, so Microsoft was kind enough to extend a 3-year warrantee on all their 360s. At worst, you'll be without a console for a month while they ship you a new one.

Since the 360 and the PS3 now cost approximately the same, price shouldn't make a huge difference in gamers' choices. The Xbox 360 still has more good games, however. It will be a while before any 'must have' titles start selling PS3s...

GTAIV got 10/10 on like every review site... I doubt running round killing everything that moves can be that good. San Andreas I thought was quite rubbish. I did like the way when it first came out there was so many new stuff you could do and all anyone mentioned was that you could drive forklift trucks... Good times.

The love for killing everything that moves is one of the things that define humanity. It is good.

Xbox 360 is a lame duck....

that said it still has halo3, and i still think halo 1 was the best FPS of its time.

I went with the 360 because that was the system that Ace Combat 6 was on. However the PS3 is one of the cheapest blueray players out at the time.

I wish region locks weren't put on the damn things. If they weren't I'm actually consider buying a PS3.

They r trying to hack it though. So u dun have to worry about this region in the next few year

any hack to remove the region free stuff using hardware would be screwed up by the constant updates sony puts out for the ps3. my friends wii utilised some sorta loophole to run imports, but he made the mistake of remaining connected to nintendo channel. now his machine has a useless chip inside it. what a noob :P

Haha, yeah. i've heard that kind of idiocy happens a lot.

Anyone looked at the new Nintendo DSi? That's region-locked also, unlike previous DS models.

yay its got a camera. 0.3Mpixel...whats the point? and you can view the photos on the wii.
only prospective benefit for me is that it makes the old DS cheaper to buy, if i get one, if i had the money, if,if,if....
