Like Sankaku Watch, this thread is devoted to following all the latest news from Kotaku or other gaming websites. If you see an interesting gaming story, post it here!

Finally, some news about the new Zelda. Is it gameplay footage? Screencaps? Possibly a trailer?
Nope, it's just concept art.

Also, will Samus become a slut? More to the point, can Team Ninja make a Power Suit sexy?

I wondered what they'd do there, actually. Maybe they'll include uber curvy version Samus as a side character in another Dead Or Alive rendition. The last had a Halo 3 Spartan, called Lauren, so why not?

I'm sure. I do think they'll maybe have a bathing cutscene, but not sluttiness.

As for Zelda: Mastersword-tan huh?

The PSP Go is all the rage in Japan... literally. Game retailers are worried that, with online-only distribution of content, they will be put out of a job.

In case you thought your home didn't have enough plastic instruments, this may be the game for you! Activision has recently shown renders of the turntable for DJ Hero.

Personally, I'm far more excited to play Roadie Hero (aka Brutal Legend), even if Activision's lawsuit delays it for a month or more.

Looks like a plastic piece of junk to me. At least the guitars are visually pleasing to an extent.

More Aliens Vs. Predator screenshots are a pleasant way to start my week. For those who haven't played the AvP 2 PC game, you're missing out on a pretty darn good FPS. Hopefully this remake of the first game will be just as good.

Mountain--er..."Mtn" Dew continues its quest to be the gamer's drink of choice with two World of Warcraft-branded Game Fuels. The Horde (red) flavor is just the Halo 3 Game Fuel with a new label, but the Alliance (blue) is apparently a new flavor.

Personally, the only way Dew is going to convince me to support their hilarious marketing is by re-labeling Baja Blast as Ghostbusters Game Fuel. Come on, Pepsi Co. Obey my commands!

Mountain Dew? Ick, that stuff is nasty.

Hmm, I vaguely recall trying a blue Mountain Dew a while back. I think it was berry-flavored.

Mountain Dew is not nasty! LiveWire and Baja Blast are made of epic win... very tasty epic win.

I believe you're thinking of Voltage; and yes, the people who have tried the Alliance flavor say it tastes similar to the previous blue concoction, but doesn't seem to be the same recipe.

I vaguely recall trying LiveWire. Wasn't that an orange-soda Dew? I assume I liked it, since you'd have to actively try to make an orange soda taste bad.

Actually, it was Mountain Dew Blue Shock I tried. It's been discontinued... prolly because it tasted so nasty. Mountain Dew Pitch Black was also nasty. However, LiveWire is the best orange soda ever made.

Wow. Gamestop is slashing prices on Guitar Hero and Rock Band merchandise. By how much, you ask? Here's an example: the Rock Band 2 Special Edition (which includes the game and one of each plastic instrument) is on sale for $94.99. It used to retail for $189.99. Oh, and you get free shipping.

Holy crap.

Seeing as the Guitar Hero III + Guitar combo is now $34.99, it might be time for Ryoko and I to consider replacing the one third-party controller we have that doesn't work so perfectly. XD

So, still anxious for Starcraft II? Thankfully, Blizzard has released a third Battle Report; and at 17 minutes long it should quell your hunger for another couple months, at which point the torturous wait will resume.

Mechwarrior 4 is being re-released... FOR FREE! That's right, the classic mech combat game and its expansions will soon be available as a COMPLETELY FREE download, as part of a promotion for the new Mechwarrior game.

Freaking AWESOME.

That DOES look fun.

Why did the camera angle keep changing? Would not it be better to just leave it in the mech?

I always did think the Reavers were kind of cute. I'd prefer a plush Dragoon, though. =3
Ah, yeah, I saw screencaps of that around 3 years ago when I had downloaded Freespace Open. Hadn't really kept up with it since then, but it sure is looking good.

Retro/Grade... a side-scrolling shooter in REVERSE!

Apparently it can be played with a guitar controller. O_O

Here are some pretty posters for Halo: Legends that should give a pretty good indication of the tone some of the shorts will have. I'd love to own #6 or #7. Also of note is the comments section, where some of the users have some...interesting things to say about the anthology. My favorite:
I didn't say it would be be bad, I just said it wouldn't be Halo. There's a teddy bear, a soft, cuddly, stuff animal. I'm not saying that's...bad, but it's not really Halo.
Oh, yeah, I totally agree. God forbid that a fictional universe mirrors our own by having more variety in the stories it tells and the emotions it invokes. As we all know, the only thing Halo can be about is space marines in power armor killing aliens and saying one-liners. Attempting to add depth will betray and destroy the franchise.

*ahem*

Sorry 'bout that. Just had to get all that off my chest.

I like what one person had to say:
I'm still wondering why, Spartan 1337 is fighting a giant gorilla.
Well... that's called a "Brute." Hmm... Let's see what they looked like in game...

Yup... looks like a giant gorilla to me. :P

This one LARGE Brute. Why is it several times larger than a Hunter?

And... on another note... why is the Arbiter wearing a dressing gown?

Yeah, the size of the brute is a little strange, but there may be a story-related reason for it that we won't know until we watch the short. As for the Elite, I'd guess that it's some sort of ceremonial garb. After all, you don't see our soldiers constantly wearing their camouflage and body armor; they have different outfits for different situations. Why should it be any different for the Covenant?

This is gonna sound like I'm playing Mad Libs, but I swear it's all true. Warren Spector (the guy responsible for the old FPS gems Deus Ex and Thief) is making a game where "Disney's lesser, forgotten characters rise up against Mickey."

Okay, I'm definitely interested.

EDIT: I try to avoid mentioning two articles within a short time of each other, but I thought that Tim Schafer announcing content filters for Brutal Legend was too interesting to pass up talking about. Like many of the commenters, I may actually turn on the language censor for the comedic value beeps provide.
