An oldie but goodie

Here's where you get to discuss how totally awesome I am! That's right, a forum devoted to me, Haruhi Suzumiya. Post here a lot, especially if you're an alien, time traveler, esper, or a slider!

You REALLY need to make your posts clearer o.o

I am most definitely going to Akihabara though.

Also... I have a few friends Japanese friends; one in Tokyo and one in Saitama. This should mean I get a little less outcast while I'm there. =p

Maybe outcast was the wrong word... I meant in the way of finding people to talk to. o.o

It basically says: "If you can read this, you won't have any problem talking to people." :P

Learning time:
Spoiler:
Moshi kore wo yonde dekireba, hitobito to issho ni hanasareru koto wa mondai nai yo.
'Moshi... -ba' is a form of 'if.'
'Yonde' is the '-te' form of 'yomu (読む),' 'to read.'
'Dekireba' is the '-ba' (if) form of 'dekiru (出来る),' 'to be able'
'Hitobito' refers to individuals within a group, maybe translated as 'each person.'
'to issho ni' is basically 'along with.'
'Hanasareru' is the "passive or causitive" form of 'hanasu.'
'Koto' turns 'hanasareru' into a noun clause, allowing it to be conjugated as such. 'Koto' is one of your best friends in intermediate Japanese :3
'Mondai' is 'problem.'
'Nai' is 'not.'
'Yo' is something you'll just pick up on.

And the quicker you can drop romaaji altogether, the better.

Thanks, some of the stuff in that is quite useful =p

My hiragana is good... so i rarely need romaji unless typing into IME.

Bad japanese EXCEPT grammar?

That's like... being perfect but not knowing any words.

Yeah, I intend to do it at Uni also. If I don't have time I'll do a course IN Japan.

Most English language schools abroad don't seem to require you know THEIR language.

Believe it or not, my vocabulary is crap, too. On the internet, you can fool everyone because they can't see you thumbing through your dictionary, but in real-life I don't do so great in face-to-face conversation :|

It's impossible to stay on topic here, isn't it? I guess it's expected of a Suzumiya Haruhi forum.
