The New Season Begins! *Spoiler warning!**

We have now had the first episode of the new anime aired in Saitama prefecture... it will have just ended as I type this.

Since it's mixed in with the old series, this topic will act as a point for the exchange of information about the new season, as it is aired. Any and links to fansubs are to be kept to PMs.

Anything that is not in the original anime is to be kept in spoiler tags, also.

Let it be awesome!

EDIT: http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/05/2 ... on-begins/ (some image spoilers)

That's what Sankaku Complex has to offer. More than I did (which I posted >>HERE<<)... but I only had 2ch to play with. I also reported first :3

The original episode count for the 'rerun' was 28 episodes which is what got everyone wondering.

This proof that we have a new episode means we have a brand new 14 episode season.

This is gonna be incredible. I hope subbers are quick with their subbing. Although, I don't want it to end up like Dragonball Kai. Rushed and non-sensical. Regardless, I am so excited now. Also, because I haven't read the novels (don't force me to, I'll get them when they're released...), will Tsuruya be in this story arc at all?

Tsuruya still has no story to her as of book 9 end, I'm afraid. She'll pop up now and again, as always, but she's not an active part of any arc.

Which is why she's portreyed as she is in Haruhi-chan.

But is she featured? In the first series, she wasn't in any of the main story. Just in the few extra episodes. Is she in the main bit? She's my favourite character and that so y'know...

Nope, sadly that is not the case. She has yet to play a 'main' role in ANY arc.

That said... she gets steadily more mysterious throughout the novels.

Looks like CoalGuys are busy on subbing it. I just loaded their webpage...

..and that's all there is.

Coalguys are a good group and it shouldn't be long before they're done.

Thats only part 1 but I'm sure you can all find the other parts if you so wish. It looks pretty good from the little I've watched. Too bad I know no Japanese.

I'm loving that i know what's happening just from the novels and the odd feeling you get of just... knowing... what they're saying
Spoiler:
when mikuru'd laid on Kyon's shoulder with older mikuru... 'you could do anything now and i wouldn't know'

-fastthinkingfasththinkingfastthinkingNO-
...that bit made me laugh... i can't quite remember it from the novels but i know what's going on.
Spoiler:
plus i love the way yuki takes off her glasses when she synchronises

This has to be the most moronic marketing strategy I've ever seen. It aired at 1 AM? Seriously?

Hopefully they're at least planning on airing reruns. :banghead:

Anyhoo, I'll watch the subs later today.

Convert the second part of the episode's RAW... FAR better proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBmW58Zb ... annel_page

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Kadokawa.

so not clicking that, am waiting for coalguys to bring up their site.
oh how that was such a welcome screen, the SOS dan symbol. Magic to my eyes....and now super has decided it does not like any of the files I want to convert...

Heh... I watched the whole RAW. It's good.

Odd that I can still tell what's going on even before it's made visable obvious. Though that could be thanks to the novels.

i clicked the link *sigh* and instantly knew what was going on *sigh*

Looks to be pretty accurate, knowing Kyo-Ani and Haruhi series 1.

Its in widescreen, so thats a big plus.

So now I have seen the episode that has taken how long to arrive? Meh, it is most certainly welcome. For all those who have read the particular novel, we all know what to expect and the episode delivers. Animation style has changed slightly, what with all the series that kyo-ani has done in recent years. With the-oh-so-cute Asahina, a lot of her facial expressions remind me of Nagisa from Clannad, and even Kyon looked like Tomoya at one point. Familiar with the art style around the eyes as well, since K-ON! has the same. Of course, what would you expect, since they all came from the same animation company? A chronological rendition of the past few years of kyo-ani's work.
Spoiler:
Yup the episode was good, Asahina-san (ka wa iiiiiiiiiiii~~~) finally got the screen time she deserves and missed out on in season 1, and Nagato....when she synchronized and took off the glasses...I nearly died right there and then...
However, those people who have not read the novels, or have not seen season 1 recently, they are going to be completely lost...

I'd imagine that's why they're rerunning the first series along with it. Anyways, great episode. Just a thought though, the rerun was only 8 episodes into it and apparently they're doing it in consecutive order. Does this mean that we won't have a new episode every week? If this is so, we'll have episode 0 and Live Alive before the other new episodes...

Hmm... I never really looked at the order before. But it does appear, having read a post on another forum, that they're doing it chronologically.

In which case this first S2 episode would likely be the only one until near the end.

If that is indeed the case, it would make sense why Kadokawa wanted to keep the new episode quiet. However, given the amount of hype that resulted regardless, I bet we'll get an official statement from them soon.

Well we'd better. It's irritating having no 'official' announcement.

Unless they announce it AFTER S2.

A rerun of it that isn't mixed with S1, maybe.
