Jesus it sounds like they looked at one page of tv tropes and Decided To Make An Anime. Thanks for the heads up.

Dustin picked this show to review this season. I hope he's on Skype and I'm awake when he watches it, because that's going to be a great reaction.

Dream Eater Merry 1: yeah um, the only characters I really care about at this point is the dude who keeps making haikus of everyone and
Spoiler:
Cat Spawn
. HOWEVER, the aesthetic gives the show a very nice painterly feel, with a pretty interesting dream world. I'm kind of hoping the dream world will change from episode to episode, it probably won't, but it would be p cool if it did. Also the fight scene was nicely animated even though it was directed by Michael Bay.

3 eps to impress

I liked the part where they show Merry's stomach.

Whoops, I had forgotten about that!

Yeah, that sure is some p terrible framing and character design, I mean why not just give her whole pieces of clothing clothing? and what is up with those shots she looks like ten years old so I'm not exactly sure why they would do that!

You know some very well-developed ten-year-olds if you think she looks that young.

Rio Rainbow Gate episode 1
Spoiler:
Xebec obviously didn't care, so why should you? So bad, it's skull-crushingly dull. 1/5, avoid at all costs.
Next up, Infinite Stratos.

Infinite Stratos episode 1
Spoiler:
All the worst high school anime tropes rolled into one yawn-inducing half hour. The writing was lazy, the premise made no sense, and the action scene (singular) was too confusing to be enjoyable. It reminded me a lot of Ladies vs. Butlers, actually. Mediocre, but I'll give it the standard three-episode test before dropping. 2/5
Next up, SLEEP! Then Madoka Magika.

Freezing is a really jarring mix of talking heads, graphic violence and fanservice. I'm not sure what I think of it yet.
I hope the first little mystery GOSICK gave us isn't an indication of the quality of the main dish, because I figured that out way too fast. That guy does have some amazing hair, though.

Might as well watch whatever comedies I can find... Not too fond of dramas...

"Onii-chan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!!" has the three-strike combination of a stupidly long name, horrible character designs, and a moronic premise. I'm not even going to bother with this one.

Seriously though, what is with those character designs? Is this a show about anorexia?

Is this a Zombie!?: I found this to be a pretty funny slap-stick comedy. Perhaps I was simply surprised but I'm definitely giving it 3 eps to see where this goes. Hopefully they level off the fan service though.

Trailer for Gainax's new Subaru/magical girl/astronomy anime is out.

So it's coming out on February 1st, and is apparently a "hi-def YouTube exclusive."

Welp it's probably a kid's show, unless they cut out the part where they are all psychologically scarred and have to fight non-Euclidean geometry to inadvertently end the universe.

Level E episode 1: This was pretty good, I just hope they flesh out the alien/baseball guy dynamic beyond "wacky antics," 'cause I wasn't feeling some of the humour. 3 eps to impress.

Yep but it's actually decent! For a second there I thought it would be a mystery of the week show that involves the fabulous le Blois come in and give Victorique a case, she solves it, the end! But it looks like it's stepping out of that cosy mystery setting with them
Spoiler:
actually going after the criminal and onto the boat
however this may just mean a change of scene, and we'll still be faced with a cosy environment, considering it is cut off from civilisation. I am interested to see where this goes. 3 eps to impress!

I can't help feeling like I shouldn't have laughed that hard at 'Is This a Zombie?', but I don't care because it had a magical girl with a chainsaw.

School Rumble? Seriously? :o

That anime adaptation managed to sap all the humor out of it's mildly funny source manga. :banghead:

I'm not one to sit through an episode of anime if I don't find it interesting. Perhaps I have just hit rock bottom with regards to interest levels. Would explain the re-watching of School Rumble (although I still think it's funny :cookie: )

Male magical girl with a chainsaw and a giant lobster with a rocket punch. I don't know what else to say if that doesn't hold your attention.
