Top Gear ~ past, present and future

Does anyone out there in anime land like Topgear? Ive watched this show since '03 and love it. Reason for posting is on friday there was a ground force special starring Jeremy Clarkson, James May and 'Handy' Hammond destroying the back yard of retired olympic rowing champion, Sir Steve Redgrave. While it was hilariously funny, Im wondering if TG is stepping beyond their relm a bit when it comes to stunts like these. Instead of the old description of TopGear being 3 blokes taking a punt at cars and doing something stupid once in a while, I think its going to quickly become '3 blokes go do something stupid' and 'what can jeremy, richard and james destroy next?'

Watched every once in a while. My mother and her partner are quite glued to it.

Personally I quite enjoy watching them insult everyone, do things they REALLY shouldn't and get away with it. Though, actually, it kinda makes you wish you had the money, time and renown to get away with them yourself.

i agree. still, to have a job where you have access to some of the worlds most jaw-dropping cars would be bliss

edit: there will be an American version called "Gear", plus, and i dont believe this: an Australian version as well.

oh cmon i cant be the only person here that likes topgear.

shami likes planes, fair enough. they have massive engines as well that make fantastic noises that make me grin until my face falls off. and they fly.
jasper was the only guy to reply to this post for the entire year, and nagato drives a diesel (i think). lazy doesnt drive yet and joel, well i dunno. same goes for kilocmdr and katya and everyone else.

topgear is back. ive just finished watching ep 1. my brain is full of petrol and crazy stunts. hence the post.

I'll bet you drive automatic?

I race in a friends car once in a while. It's a Peugeot 106, modified for rally. We have two and race around some woodland =D

No drivers license yet... but i'll be sorting it soon enough.

yeah i gotta auto. only because my family doesnt have a manual car, and my first car was a '75 ford escort with a 1.3L
after i re-fitted the suspension it went around corners like nobody's business. sucked on 40 degree days though.
only had 3 gears too, so on the freeways it sounded like it was going to take off, and if the wind got underneath it, bloody scary let me tell u.

2nd post again, but this is worth it.

The latest topgear (ep4) is a race between Japanese public transport (richard hammond and james may, as always, are on the train) and jeremy clarkson driving the Nissan GTR. Their route is basically west to east across Honshu, and I gotta say, this is by and by their best race ever.
lots of stuffups from the totally japanese-ignorant trio. hilarious
