Chris is learning japanese!
yes, today was my first lesson in LANG1093 basic japanese; and it turned out to be great. a real break from the norm of bloody maths every single damn day *eye twitch*
we have begun with learning to write hiragana, today was a, i, u, e, o and the first set of consonants
hajimashite chris desu, yoroshiku onegaishimaSU {corrected by me much later }
i think thats right :?
...probably spelt it wrong since i cant read my own damn handwriting, dont know the hiragana for it yet either
we did all the usual language class thing for noobs, everyone had to introduce themselves to each other in japanese that was written on the whiteboard. twas good.

Haha... though i believe we have a topic for the learning/sharing already.
I suggest looking for a book called 'remembering the kana' by James W. Heisig.
I learned hiragana overnight... seriously. It has both hiragana and katakana in it (I keep meaning to do katakana also... probably will tonight) and boasts to teach you each in 3 hours (with breaks though).
It works.

Japanese....oh God....*acts like the Suicidal Marine from Halo 3*
Mein Gott....Die Japanischen Lektionen….Halten Sie das Buch und das Arbeitsbuch weg von mir… verflucht diese schreckliche deutsche Übersetzung….oh Gott!
XD
Yeah, Japa 110 annd 210 was one academic year's worth of pain and torture and brought me freshman year GPA to a 2.4. I hope you don't have a wrinkly 40 year old Japanese woman as your teacher. Mine was always haggling everyone. But then again, the University made ALL languages advanced study.
