Re: MMORPG's, RPG's and games in general....
well HL2 was one of the defining games for me, I got so immersed in that world that I didn't get over the ending for a week. And if any game, maikeru, would get you into FPS's, then this is it. Portal was excellent, but HL2 + the expansions have a real story line that went pretty deep in some cases and, like stilts, i fully recommend that you try to play!!
actually, its kinda like me and onepiece. I hate the looks of the animation and art style but thats just my prejudice. If you play HL2, im willing to go start watching onepiece which everyone seems to be raving about.

I don't really like the art style... but I watched a few of early anime episodes when we still had kids channels on sky+. Didn't get into it.
But at least I tried! :p

was that the dubbed version? if so then I watched the same amount of episodes. About 2 for me at least, cos yeah, it was dubbed AND the art style sucked.

I never liked One Piece... it always seemed like sheer lunacy to me.
And not the good kind of lunacy, like Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.

Its only a 5 hour game at most so I'll guess not long... Still one of my favourite games though.Pandemonium wrote:How long were you playing it, may I ask?

Re: MMORPG's, RPG's and games in general....
I was referring to maikeru... who seems to have been playing it quite some time.
5 hours?
Under 4 for me first try. Around 3 being my shortest now I know what to do.

I'll refer you to >>THE RULES<< here:
Since this particular one is new you're safe this time... but this IS to be taken seriously. All posts must be at least four words or more in length. Quotes, images and emoticons do not count towards this word total. Any posts that do not comply will be deleted. The Spam Spasms forum is excepted from this rule. (This rule took effect on May 12, 2009)

Re: MMORPG's, RPG's and games in general....
I knew you were referring to him. Most game reviews say it takes at most 5 hours to complete so y'know. Thought I'd say that. Took me about 3 and a half on my first go. About 2 hours second time. Couldn't be bothered to play it again after that.Pandemonium wrote:I was referring to maikeru... who seems to have been playing it quite some time.

8 times? A bit too obsessed I'd say... Move on to Half Life 2 soon. Its about as good as Portal. And I also didn't like FPSs when I played it first. It actually got me into them.Maikeru.Y wrote:for your info pande, i have completed it 8 times and the seventh time was 40 mins ^^ i was going for speed, but usually it takes me 50 mins not rushing like hell ^^ i love it its awsome.

Re: MMORPG's, RPG's and games in general....
i like near the end of half-life 2 ep.0 better. (war on the street) And i can complete Half-life 2 ep.0 in a whole morning, 3-4 hours with Half-life 2 ep.1, almost whole morning with Half-life 2 ep.2(love the final combine attack in the end). Half-life 1 took three days for first try in 2000. Half-life blue shift took whole morning to afternoon. Opposing forces(never complete because the last boss have a bug). Half-life 2 lost coast took 20 min. Portal...never complete because of being lazy. Still waiting for Half-life 2 ep.3 where Portal meet Half-Life

I should finish Halo 3 and Blue Dragon already. I keep giving up on the hard bits.
Blue Dragon I gave up on when i found out I'd missed an item and woulkd have to play it all again to get all the achievements. ¬¬;
Halo 3 I'm stuck on. I'm playing it on Legendary, so I have SOME excuse.

I played one and 2 on normal and some of 2 on heroic. This is the first time I've played on legendary.

Re: MMORPG's, RPG's and games in general....
legendary require lots of careful and patience. I got careful and good tactics but when i fight, patience is what i don't have. Since in legendary, receiving more than 4-6 hit from any gun at the same time is consider dead in halo 1 and 2. I never play 3 so i don't really know. But Halo 1 legendary is easy ^^

Re: MMORPG's, RPG's and games in general....
In halo 3 Legendary is slightly simpler than on 1 and 2. But you can still die seemingly for no reason just by walking round a corner into the enemy's sights.
Took me 5 deaths to realise there were two ghosts chasing me that I'd failed to dispatch earlier.

That why you should play with your head phone. And also try to play this game like metal gear. Walk carefully and observe the enemy since they can be anywhere. Play like metal gear or call of duty on hardest. Then you should be fine.

Ah yes, I tried doing the Portal Flash Pack. I got to somewhere around level 9 or 10, I think, before it got so difficult that I gave up. Similar thing with Halo 3: I can do Normal mode perfectly fine, but Heroic? Check, please.
Currently Playing:
Infinite Undiscovery = The battle system is interesting, but it's frustrating to use when the game tries to incorporate puzzles during battles.
Valkyria Chronicles = This game is great; I've just started a New Game+ and am having fun decimating the early missions with my overpowered militia.
Fallout 3 = I've been playing this off and on pretty much since it came out. Right now, though, I'm doing it for the specific purpose of gathering screenshots to use for my upcoming review. For those who care, I'll add a "Bonus Section" on to the review where I discuss mods.
