I wouldn't suggest trying.
Personally I'm not sure I could get one to a speed/height/whatever where crashing would be possible.

Somebody wrote:You're telling me you can ACTUALLY fly a plane? You're the first I've ever met who can do that!
Yes I can fly an aircraft, by myself as sole manipulator of the controls, have been doing the same since 1973.
I'm a minority , well we pilots are , about 700,000 strong world wide we number.
More questions ask away ...

Actually, as the following photo shows .. all you have to do is have the airplane running and forget how to stop it.

Tis early in 2010 the air-show schedule has been posted for a famous flying team.
The sites are located
Here! and
Here.
The 'Memorial' section on each site is worth a visit too..

Matt Younkin discusses his flying career and the Beech 18 in this two part interview. (AERO NEWS NETWORK)
Part 1
Part 2
A bit of history, the present Franklin / Younkin Air shows. Kyle Franklin and Matt Younkin are the third generation. In 2005 the Second generation, Jimmy Franklin and Bobby Younkin were killed in an airshow accident. They were involved in a midair crash.
This should explain why both Jimmy's and Bobby's pictures appear together in this presentation.
A side note: Kyle Franklin's wife Amanda is Matt Younkin's sister. The Third generation is going strong..

It's official...
We lost the lease on the hanger and at the present moment the airport does not have any room for us to lease, or rent ...
(We're moving our equipment into a storage unit for the time being)
So after a 10 year run we are taking a little vacation (forced)... More news as it comes about...

Man, I'll experience that one day. You have my word on this.
At the moment though, how are you for a complete contrast? See below for outside my front door on this lovely sunday morning (climbing towards 100F yet again)

Major accidents come in threes it seems
Japan's present dilemma rates as #1
This runs a strong second with me at least:

Not ready for the third straw yet.

Pretty much 3 years since the last post in this particular thread. I really miss this place and skype definitely ain't a replacement. Never was, really.
Looking at the previous posts its fair to say a lot happened for us all since 2011. For me, three trips to the USA (one to meet the PH Crew), moved house twice (still live in the desert though) and getting older (I'm sure Shami will rebuke that).
So...

Y'know it
snowed in Melbourne today.
...well, to define snow as a light pattering of sleet which quickly melted away is far from what others see every winter, but for us it was quite surreal.
Then again, by 'us', I do not mean me, as I look out the window and see bright sunshine.
*shakes fist at desert*
Oshkosh next year?
