Re: How did you know about Haruhi Suzumiya?
When I found out about this show when I was watching the anime news on the TV demand. They did the Hare Hare dance. I was like ok. A few weeks later I decide to look it up on wiki and looked good so I went to Frys and picked up V1. Bought the rest after that and read the novel V1-5 as of now.

Re: How did you know about Haruhi Suzumiya?
How did I find out? Someone on another forum (Specifically Chris (AKA Xagor)) mentioned it, so I went and watched the first ep on YT. (I tend to just go straight in and do that rather than research.) It weirded me out a bit, but Chris had mentioned that it was a bit odd and non-chronological, so I carried on past ep 1. Naturally, I came to love it.
And it's not relevant, but this then led onto me discussing it on IRC with Mitchell (Bloatedfish), and when I joined the channe; #SOSBrigade was surprised to find it already registered ... and given how much Jasper's making himself known here, anyone who's read the introduction forums should know/be able to guess the rest.

You think I just grab people off the street and make them join here? Actually... I kind of do. I drag anyone who shows an interest in Kyo-Ani into my world. I then force-feed them Haruhi and send them here.
Airwolf... you joined #sosbrigade not knowing it existed... never mind that I had it?
And, Nagato: Yes. I figured you could do with the help. Don't worry; we have our own clubroom.

Internet Relay Chat...
Imagine having 20 people all in MSN at once. Like that but doesn't lag your PC beyond any hope.
Looks sort of like this:
That's a completely made up situation, but it seems quite likely for some reason o.o

Simple... don't register.
You trying mirc?
If so... the thing never stops you getting on. After the trial ends you just have to wait a while before it comes on each time.

Re: How did you know about Haruhi Suzumiya?
They showed it at my Uni's anime society. It seemed a little odd at first to me and I think we saw up to the baseball ep first time around which just led to some 'what' moments. (Much like with the first ep earlier in that same showing.) By the time we'd finished I was a big fan though.

Re: How did you know about Haruhi Suzumiya?
To be expected. They can't exactly identify the contents of the file and choose whether they let you have it or not, it'd be an entire profession in itself.lazysunside wrote:The school block the download *crying*

Re: How did you know about Haruhi Suzumiya?
my uni is crafty, they dont block ur download, they just charge you.
at the start of each semester we all get $20 printer credit through the servers, and this counts also as your download limit
i reckon its another moneymaking scheme, since 20bux doesnt go very far

My college blocks downloads, charges 10p for colour A4 prints, 5p for black & white... but only on the colour printer. The others are all free. butart materials, which we have to buy pretty much every day, are extortionate prices.
Also... £1.20 for a photocopy card which has uh... 40(?) credits. 4 credits for A3 colour copys.
