I hate cynical fanboys. They are on of the most annoying things I've ever known. Just because you like something doesn't give you the right to consider those ill-informed as idiots.

But oh no... I just realized I AM one D:

Today I tore apart some idiot on facebook who was determined to believe that Haruhi s2 was to be released on October 7th. I was tired, hadn't slept...

...but I did it. I'm a cynical fanboy ;-;

I even argued the definition of moé, since Haruhi most certainly ain't it.

Calm down. Just come to the person and say sorry. Cuz at the time you are tired so u r not yourself. Or unless u r really one of them then redeem yourself. Every thing can be forgiven. Depend on how u do it.

Everyone has their terrible fan moments. It's hard just to sit by sometimes when people are spewing out wrong information. Not to be on topic or anything...

True, true. Everyone has an otaku just trying to get out. It's claustrophobic in there D:

And... feel free. Nice to see you posting, by the way =3

Sorry you're stuck with me and my woman-ness.

But uh admitting you're a fanboy is the first step to either embracing it or overcoming it.

There is nothing to be ashamed of. Welcome to the club.

And I still say Mikuru is a moe-blob.

Look at it this way. At one point, I helped catalog every single weapon, vehicle and for that matter, and piece of military hardware used in the anime version of FullMetal*PANIC!, including a 3 page discussion on which model Mil Mi-24 Hind was chasing the car at the start of ep1, and what model ATGM it fired. Don't even get me started on crap I've done involving type-MOON works.

As such, your insanity is mild by comparison.

Insanity? What insanity?

I have the capacity to work out the logical, most rational choice for many thing.

i just usually prefer to diverge as much as I can get away with :3

Katy? Why do you think I made him a mod?
He's a bit tamer version of yourself.

Tamer? only online, my friend.

I'm a Haruhi fan, after all. actions speak FAR louder than words.

Evident in the fact when i set eyes on this site I decided i'd try my best to drag it to it's feet. Look... you made me a moderator ;D

Haruhi gets all her schoolwork done before anything else.

And on topic:

Just thinking... I guess being a fanboy aint so bad.

Oh god I just found the rant. I'm sorry but isn't moe actually not fully defined and has varied meanings? Moe is in the eye of the beholder as such.

What one person finds to be moe, you may not.

Also isn't one definition to do with a feeling of wanting to protect said character? It's not necessarily a sexual attraction as some people construe it as, but more of a big brother feeling of wanting to protect your little sister sort of thing.

I've heard people say Chad from Bleach is moe. (That is his name right, Ichigo's friend, the big one)

Also apparently Tsukasa's english voice is moe in Japan.

@Pan - Trust me, you are still tamer than I am. You do not want to know what I talk about... or how I came to the conclusion Photocopier and Printer repair is the perfect front for a Terror cell.

Meanwhile, on Moe

Yes, it is for the most part, generally quite loosely defined, however a general set of fairly consistent criteria. Generally that 'moe-moe' is more aimed at 'cute' rather than 'sexy', but general definitions being along the lines of 'cute', 'huggable' and 'endearing'.

Mikuru for example, is widely regarded as well... a Moe-blob, being quite close to the limit where the moe-factor would have an ungodly large number of moe-traits while still retaining the general form. Something that attempts to overkill in moe generally ends up throwing contradictory moe-traits at each other.

For example, Welcome to the NHK's manga and novel forms describe a character with so many moe traits that it shifts into an Eldritch horror instead. The novel version especially, is impossible to visualise, having so many contradictory factors that it may well be an Elder god on the same level as Cthulu or The King in Yellow.

EDIT: And someone tell me exactly why the word se-xy is in the filters. =.=

I think you beat me just by posting that ó.o

Hmm...

I find it amusing how people around the world grab hold of a sinple Japanese world and distort it's meaning into something similar to a mobius band.

Yay Welcome to the NHK.

Also Jasper that whole argument you were having was stupid. He was well within his right to call Haruhi with a ponytail moe, if that's the way he views it. You might not, but it wasn't wrong of him to say so. Come on Kyon says he finds ponytails moe during the 7th ep.

Well i was bored and wanted something to do... i don't actually care much about what people call moé. Hence I'm not bothering to justify my opinion. x3

Yup... definitely getting worse. I'm going to a anime con cosplaying as a female character.
