Toradora!

Ok, so I'm a little late with this as the 20th episode was aired (yesterday?) and just released with subs... and I'm only on episode 3 in a few minutes.
I've heard quite a bit of buzz around about Toradora! so I thought I'd check it out. First I looked at the manga and wasn't impressed, but diligently I continued.
I gave up and wiki'd it to find out that the original media was actually a light novel series. There is hope after all! Like Shana and Haruhi, this explained the success when the manga actually kinda sucks and is nowhere near completion.
So I thought I'd try the anime. And it's fantastic.
Made by the same animation studio as Shakugan no Shana, Ghost Hunt, Zero no Tsukaima, Read Or Die, Azumanga Daioh and various other well known anime... it's fantastic too look at and the story is, at the end of episode two of twenty-five, already coming along nicely.
The story starts with Takasu Ryūji and Taiga Aisaka's first meeting. Rather a scary one. Both characters known to be very forward, bully types. Takasu, actually, is completely misenterpretted... but Taiga is known as the palmtop tiger for good reason.
Each character is interested in the other's best friend. After a rather interesting scenario involving a love letter and a wooden sword, they become friends and join forces as a means to closer with their own love interests.
It hasn't worked, so far.
This is one fantastic anime. For a little more information, that hasn't come from me ranting to kill time until episode 3 finishes downloading, check the wikipedia page:
