I definitely don't think Full Metal Panic or Ninja Scroll are suited to the cinematic medium. They work well as anime, but as live-action movies they would fall flat.
Hollywood is constantly optioning out properties for movies. Very few of them ever actually get made. I predict these movies will be stuck in development hell for the foreseeable future... with the occasional news story about a new director or writer, but nothing substantial.
