Ok... so me and my friend have been playing with this guessing game bot for hours now.
It's been right in an insane amount of cases... anything from The Borg, Drossel von Flugel, Rie Kugimiya and Pikachu... to 'the girl i want.'

Have a go! O_O

Characters it successfully guessed:
Hazumu Osaragi (Kashimashi)
MS-06 Zaku II (Mobile Suit Gundam)
Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Report)
Johnny Rico (Starship Troopers)
Hari Seldon (Foundation)
Eclair (Kiddy Grade)
Characters it did not successfully guess:
Forty (A.I. Love You)
Lynn Westmoreland (U.S. House of Representatives)
Yutaka Yamamoto (director of Haruhi S1)
Yutaka Takenouchi (Cromartie High School)
So, overall, I guess it's okay...

Generally it only fails when the character ain't actually there... or isn't attributed to the things you answered. Or if you don't use a character.

It failed to guess Yutaka Takenouchi because he has attributes it doesn't ask about. His primary attribute is that he gets motion sickness... other than that, he's just your typical bald overweight high-school delinquent punk who has a minor role in a parody/comedy anime series.
The other three were too obscure and weren't in its database.
By the way, another good way to fool it is to think of a character who is a common cliche, trope or stereotype. For example: gun-wielding leather-clad female action hero... or ditzy high school girl who transforms into a magical girl to fight evil.

Heh... there's actually an 'is your character a doll?' question. I was trying to trick it with the rozen maiden... and that came up.

Rozen Maiden is too obvious.
Try something REALLY obscure. For example, I managed to stump it with this character...

IT READS YOUR MIND D:
Lelouch Lamperouge, Captain Planet, John Howard (former PM of Australia), Gough Whitlam (PM of Australia from LONG ago), Jeremy Clarkson, The Stig, Tsukasa Hiragii (The 4th question was "Is your character from a Kyoto-animation Production?"
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
I nearly tricked it with Canaan, but nooooo at question 19: "Is your character's name the same as the series"
Damn.

It got Rikku, Rise Kujikawa, and Riddick on the first round of guesses and Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters) on the second round. I stumped it with Lyuze (Casshern Sins), Anna Aoi (Godannar), and Monica Adenaur (Yakitate!! Japan). I actually had to add Valentine (Lord Valentine's Castle) to its list.

Rozen Maiden wouldn't have been obvious if it didn't ask whether they were dolls x3
And I'd say Drossel, which it guessed, was probably more obscure than her *points*

You do realize that Fireball is insanely popular in Japan, right? The
DVD set has consistently ranked highly in Amazon Japan's top 25 Sales Rankings for at least a month. Right now, it's ranked at #11, beating out both the Haruhi Bamboo DVD and the K-On! volume 3 Blu-ray.
Issho-Ni Training, on the other hand, managed to achieve good short-term popularity, but it didn't last long. Ergo, Drossel is very popular, while Hinako is fairly obscure.

There are different levels of obscurity, the damn website suceeded with Konata's Dad, Sōjirō Izumi, and I reckon he's more obscure then Hinako is at the moment.

Konata Izumi has a Dad. His name is
Sōjirō Izumi. What more is there to know? >_<

Well, you could start with what exactly "the damn website" is.

=| The bot, obviously.
Anyway... my friend Jake had a go. Akinator correctly guessed Stargate's Teal'c and both Sam Vimes and Gaspode from the Discworld novels.

Oh, ok. I see what he meant now.
Hmm... I think it's getting smarter.

It aught to be. Every time it guesses wrong those 'yes' and 'no' answers get attributed to the correct answer. So if you correct it... it shouldn't take more than maybe one or two tries to get it right.

Pleased we are all up to date now. This website helped me get through one of the roughest assessment weeks at uni.
Naru Narusegawa, Aoyama Motoku, Kaolla Su, Danny Ocean, oh I was laughing. Good way to ease the stress.

it can't guess "Gene Kelly" for 3 times, "the other me" for 5 times.

It got: Goku (DBZ), Darth Vader, Plo Koon (Star Wars), Kane (Command and Conquer), Predator (from the movies)
Didn't get: al-Ghazali, Madcat MkII
I might try more later... but I'm going to go get some lunch first.

this thing is pretty impresive.
right: gordon Freeman, Chell, haruhi suzumiya, Yuki Nagato, Mio Akiyama <3, the weighted companion cube, Minami Iwasaki, Izumi Konata, Half - Life 2 Advisor, Half - Life 2 Strider, GLaDOS, the master chief, Alyx Vance, Dr Breen, combine soldier, Horo, Portal turret, Sabriel, Mikuru, Kyon and Nodoka Miyazaki
failed: Ashley Mizuki Robins
i enjoyed that.
EDIT: headcrab, Dr, Kleiner, Eli Vance, The G-Man but not Barny.

I beat it with Katsuragi Hana, Arioch, Manah, Angelus, Isaac Dian, Tsarita Alexandra Feodorovna, Vladimir Putin, Amamiya Sakurako, Kang Shichan, Ennis, Luna, Gettou Hibiki, Tatsumi Oga, Kana, Alexandra Roivas, Pious Augustus, Kestral Hath, Septimus Heap, Dervish Grady, Alexander Ovechkin (surprisingly) and Ekaterina Kurae.
A few more, too, but it rarely ever guesses who I'm thinking of, haha. I guess it's all my obscure series/video games... orz;;

This thing still stumps me. I only tried it three times, but it correctly guessed Julia Gillard (deputy PM of AU), Chie Satonaka (P4) and Igor as well (also from P4). Chie nearly stumped it though, we were past 20 questions...

I beat it with Morooka Kinshiro, also from P4, but I guess that goes without saying. He's not exactly an ensemble darkhorse. :')
It depends on the questions you get. I beat it with Kanbaru Suruga once, but the next time it asked me a sports question, then a basketball question, then a lesbian question, and I knew I was done for. orz;;
I try to go for the most obscure series I know, or be really technical with the questions to try and fool it.

Hehehe, I stumped it with Lieutenant Jean Razack from Roughnecks: Starship Trooper Chronicles.

He cant guess Fred Astaire (famous actor and dancer), Huey Long (famous Jazz player), Hung Vuong (Viet Namese old king), Shimazu Tadahisa(i got him all red and angry with this one).
What he can guess is Huey Long, Jr., Oliver Cromwell.
