Toradora!
Ok, so I'm a little late with this as the 20th episode was aired (yesterday?) and just released with subs... and I'm only on episode 3 in a few minutes.
I've heard quite a bit of buzz around about Toradora! so I thought I'd check it out. First I looked at the manga and wasn't impressed, but diligently I continued.
I gave up and wiki'd it to find out that the original media was actually a light novel series. There is hope after all! Like Shana and Haruhi, this explained the success when the manga actually kinda sucks and is nowhere near completion.
So I thought I'd try the anime. And it's fantastic.
Made by the same animation studio as Shakugan no Shana, Ghost Hunt, Zero no Tsukaima, Read Or Die, Azumanga Daioh and various other well known anime... it's fantastic too look at and the story is, at the end of episode two of twenty-five, already coming along nicely.
The story starts with Takasu Ryūji and Taiga Aisaka's first meeting. Rather a scary one. Both characters known to be very forward, bully types. Takasu, actually, is completely misenterpretted... but Taiga is known as the palmtop tiger for good reason.
Each character is interested in the other's best friend. After a rather interesting scenario involving a love letter and a wooden sword, they become friends and join forces as a means to closer with their own love interests.
It hasn't worked, so far.
This is one fantastic anime. For a little more information, that hasn't come from me ranting to kill time until episode 3 finishes downloading, check the wikipedia page:

Re: Toradora!
yeah, this series delivered on the high hopes I got from reading the limited manga scanlations.
Unfortunately, I have only watched up to 13 *twitch*
it was very hard to save up the few episodes i could before leaving for whyalla, then watching them all in one hit....
but ive loved it as well. the relationship between taiga and ryūji has brought about a hilarious story, and with the 3 orbiting satellites (minori, yūsaku and ami) there is interesting times to come
really looking forward to picking this back up asap

Re: Toradora!
Neither of those comments make me happy.
First as I adore the OP... the second because it means it'll speed up and the rest of the series will feel like it's gone in seconds.

Re: Toradora!
all the good series travel at light speed towards the end, either to win or to fail (schooldays has scarred me for ever...)
that is, assuming your internet doesnt run fast relative to the tectonic movements of continental australia....

Re: Toradora!
Well... the OP and ED changed, in the end, at episode 18.
I'm really disappointed by the new ones. Still be downloading the new OP though, as I do with every anime OP as a memento.
I'm now up to date with the anime and look forward to this week's Clannad and Toradora!

Re: Toradora!
kinda defeats the object...
also... ep 21 had something I'd rather not have the result of spoiled
so keep stuff in tags please.
Even if I do now know the damn end ¬¬
