I'm a big Pokemon fanatic, and I've played every game since Crystal. I'm planning on getting Platinum after final exams are over (about 2 weeks), which I'll use to EV train a competitive team.
I used to play it a lot. Don't really like it anymore. Churning out games with little to no changes throughout has left me bored of it. I've got Red, Yellow, Crystal, Sapphire and used to Fire red. I never bothered getting Diamond or Pearl or whatever. And finally, favourite pokemon (I'm still allowed one...):
yep, you (probably didn't guess it) guessed it. Gallade is one of the only pokemon i like, in a explore team with a Gardevoir. perfect couple.
i try playing the games, but in heart I've always been a major fan of the mystery dungeon series, but my friend's (who give a damn) seem to think its a fail
(Akiru (Gallade) = lvl 75, Katsura (Gardivour) =lvl 74 == team Twilight ^^)
(i was refering to my mystery dugeon team silly ^^')
that is a pretty awsome combo ^^' on Diamond (male character) mine are, Gallade, Gardivour (duh) Umbreon, Luxray (oh yes), Blaziken, Blaziken+Gallade=so much pwnege i can take the whole tower in double with them with no pots and Milotic, probably the most beautiful out of the all ^^. all lvl 86 (fav lvl, cause 100 is for noobs (sep you pande))
Anyway... I've found myself a nice timid eevee with 30/31 ivs in both speed and sp.attack
Now for vitamins and then evs 8D
At some point i need to connect up my gamecube to my pc so i can trade espeon to fire red via colloseum/XD. Since I want an espeon I need day/night to evolve it. This could be interesting.
I'll probably EV it on Fire Red to make it simpler.
i left pokemon in 2001. I love pokemon because they are cute but recently, the future pokemon is become more and more like real monster and robot so...
agreed, i don't/didn't like the 4th era because i thought that they were all far to colourful and childish, and that they gave Evolution to the pokémon in the first seires, i mean pn of them would have evolved by now!

Actually... I remember reading that the artists have actually drawn up some 1,000+ monsters since the first games came out. Each gen they take a random selection of these, balance them out and release them. So there's no gen that will get better or worse.

Yeah, really. I'm going to have a Quagsire following me around constantly.
The skateboard thing comes from an unreliable source, according to Bulbapedia.
As far as the in-depth breeding system... Game Freak doesn't tend to introduce new mechanics in their remakes. They didn't even bother adding weather or day/night cycles to FireRed and LeafGreen... so I'm a bit skeptical they'd choose to introduce a radical new breeding mechanic in HeardGold / SoulSilver.
Also, the official HG/SS site is up (in Japanese).
Not sure where this is actually quoted from... but:
The official Japanese Pokémon website has recently updated with new information about Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The site includes new Pokémon and character artwork, game screenshots and more.
The release date of the game in Japan is on Fall 2009. The site include details about the Generation II starter Pokémon, Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile, and new artwork for them. New artwork can also be seen for the Version mascots, Lugia and Ho-Oh, and for the player characters, Gold and Soul, the new girl player character.
The site also provided screenshots seen on the images from CoroCoro. It features a screenshot of how choosing the starter Pokémon will be like. It also shows that the PokéGear will be redesigned with a new layout and pops up when X or Start is pressed. This new navigation system will be accessed on the touch screen. Two images show that the player's starter will follow them, much like Pikachu did in Yellow. The final screenshot shows that an images will appear once again when entering a new area, similar to FireRed and LeafGreen.
Another one of the site's updates confirms that the Pikachu-colored Pichu will unlock an event involving the Notched-ear Pichu. It will occur near the Ilex Forest Shrine.
A third update confirms that the special Arceus to be given away starting June will have an effect in Platinum.
