← Always dropped his starters in favour of a more varied party and more reason to train pokemon. My charizard was taken out for Arcanine, In FireRed the flying type part was taken over by Zapdos.

← I tended to keep the starter and just add in pokemon not of that type. Always had a Jolteon in the party as well (until you couldn't actually get it...)
