Heh, Pokemon is how I've grown up. I got into Red and blue when I was in primary school. I've collected pokemon things ever since.
So I'm a bit of a hardcore pokemon fan =p

I refer you to
http://serebii.net and it's 'game mechanics' section.
I'm using an HTTPS proxy to view this site atm, so I can't actually go find you the page... you'll have to hunt it out.

It has to do with a Pokemon's stats.

In GSC there was a boy that explained that all pokemon are different.
This is what causes that. It can be manipulated to great effect.

Of course xD
I'm a competitive battler... it adds to the replayability, but it's not like you have to obsess over details like I do.
Just don't expect me to like you if you try to battle me with a Giratina. ¬¬;

Haha oh god no!
I like fighting with the natural Pokemon that you can find in the wild grasses. It seems fairer and more of a challenge.

You know they're making "Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver"?
Remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver...obvious.
Releases in Japan September 12th, 2009.
I hope it releases here in US.

I would be shocked if they DIDN'T release them in the United States. That would be unprecedented.

Hmm. My brother bought SoulSilver.
I was always a Pokemon Gold fan. That's actually my favourite Pokemon game to date. I don't care if Pearl has better graphix, I want Gold! >/
But I don't know what SoulSilver is actually like because he wouldn't let me play it/tell me about it.
...I vow to save up more money. :/

HeartGold and SoulSilver are remakes of Gold and Silver. They're basically the same game with much improved graphics and a few added features.

Are there features, similar to those in Pearl/Diamond, like the screen that comes up with the time, the step counter, Pokemon recently caught, that kinda thing?

No, they basically turned the touchscreen into a menu screen, for ease of navigating your inventory and managing your Pokemon. The best part, however, is that the first Pokemon in your party follows you around outside of battle, like Pikachu did in Pokemon Yellow.
