Suzumiya Haruhi no Seitankan
The novels... backwards (As Nagato seems so happy with)...
and Baka-tsuki are translating it, as they did the originals.
(or are they writing it? Who knows)

Just? Not wonder at the fact that the characters always looked the same?

I find it fascinating from a sociological perspective. Certain things being changed because they don't fit gender conventions (Haruki drop-kicking a female Computer Society President seemed to be unacceptable), and Kyonko and Yuuki are adorable :3

i prefer the girls, to be honest. If every character were female... I'd reread it every day >.>

Re: Suzumiya Haruhi no Seitankan
i just like looking at manga, or watching anime.
ive already seen haruhi in both manga and anime form. now, reading about it just doesnt cut it.
Also, in text form, its harder to redefine haruhi into haruki. some of the mannerisms of the male haruki dont fit right, as in watching the anime, you observe haruhi and you have to decide for yourself what she is (arrogant, obnoxious, cute, whatever); nobody tells you that.
In text form, haruki is a headstrong, dropkicking girls nitwit.
ug, hope i havent dug myself a hole here >_<
If this gets drawn up in manga form, like in the 'suzumiya sightings' forum, then that would perk up my interest a lot more.

There have been a couple posted already. There are lots more I've run across of varying quality... I'll try to post some of the better ones as I find them again.xsirhc wrote: If this gets drawn up in manga form, like in the 'suzumiya sightings' forum, then that would perk up my interest a lot more.

That's why I learned Japanese: so I didn't get relegated to that chore. That's the typesetter's job :3Pandemonium wrote:Next job... edit the image with the translation.

A long time ago, I learned a great word to use in that kind of situation: 'no.'Pandemonium wrote:don't point out your strengths, if you don't want such things asked of you

Indeed, though... then you meet people like me. While 'no.' is a powerful barricade, i'm quite adept when it comes to finding weak bricks.
In this case I'll relent, however. I WAS only joking ^^

Generally I agree with that policy, but I figure it's common knowledge around here already.

Re: Suzumiya Haruhi no Seitankan
somehow not as effective as the original (i.e. haruhi). and why would haruki, being a male, worry too much about his hair in the first place?
or is that just me...
hmm *looks at hair in mirror*
