They tried one in the UK for a while. It didn't work. At all. It was there for about a month and only showed things from 9 pm to about 4 am. It only seemed to show 4 animes as well. So my thoughts on this is an obvious no. It would be incredibly hard to fund and not that many people would watch it.

Re: random anime, manga, and Japanese stuff
Okay, that's just wrong. Anime is WAY more popular in other southeast Asian countries (such as Singapore, Korea and India) than it is in the United States. Heck, even Mexico and Canada get more anime programming than we do. Consider Animax, the anime satellite TV network. It broadcasts Asia, Australia, southern Africa, South America, Canada and Mexico.... but NOT America. They're even planning on launching networks in Europe and the UK soon.Mr. J of Sakai wrote:dont they know that all the outside japan otaku and anime fans are in america?
Americans make up a tiny portion of the international otaku fandom. Anime never took off in our mainstream pop culture, so it remains a niche market. That means we're not likely to get Animax or anything similar in the forseeable future.

I wonder if it'll be available on Freeview if it does pop up. We have an HTPC setup :3Ritsu wrote:They're even planning on launching networks in Europe and the UK soon.
Sky run a monopoly on digital TV here... most channels are only available through them and you have to have their skybox and package to view them. Not exactly fair... a certain book quote comes to mind.
'Good business is NOT to be the best option... but to be the ONLY option' -- Terry Pratchett's Going Postal
OH! and as a sidenote... loving the new front end style, Ritsu :3

Gotta be Digimon... and any pokemon episode after the Indigo League... and the 6th film onwards.
OH, and Naruto... but more for it's fandom. The same can be said for Hetalia, I guess.

Far too many were so annoying I couldn't get past the first episode, and yet I forget most of their names. Also, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Code Geass. Their depressing nature irritated me a lot. Didn't stop me watching them, like.
