Bakacast – This Is Entirely Too Long

This season is going to kill my voice.

On this nearly-three-hour episode of Bakacast (yes, really), we spend way too much time on both our reviews and listener questions. But mostly just on listener questions, which lead us down many and varied topics (including a check-in from Megan!). Also, we review the Girls Und Panzer movie, which served to remind us all that, yeah, that show somehow managed to be pretty darn good. If only Argevollen could be even half as exciting…

The hero appears.

It was a pretty darn good week for us Bakacasters. Every show we watched got a perfect score. To make it even better, Ping Pong ended on a higher note than even I expected it to. It feels good to not really have anything to dislike for once.

You think pollination was included in that genetic modification, too?

On this episode of Bakacast, we bring in Mellowship to help us talk about last week’s shows (and, if I’m perfectly honest, to be our font of manga knowledge). He also proves quite useful in helping us decipher Mark the One’s questions during our listener comments section, where we lament the fate of the Appleseed franchise and discuss what we’d like to see out of the Sailor Moon reboot.

Brendan Fraser can probably help with that.

On this episode of Bakacast, we learn that the only shows that can continually impress are Mushi-shi and LoGH. Everything else is slightly less than perfect. On the plus side, Captain Earth is finally going somewhere.

Also, if you’re interested in the tabletop system I plugged in the intro segment, you can find it right here. As someone who has used the [%] system as both a player and a GM, I highly recommend it.

We await your resurrection.

So yeah, I guess the winter season ended a while ago. If you can manage to pry yourselves away from JoJo (a difficult proposition, I know), you’ll find our thoughts on the various endings and our overall series reviews. Also: why we should always trust fathomlessblue’s warnings.

I’m experiencing Bleach flashbacks all of a sudden.

And so one of our winter season shows finally ends, not with a bang but a curt nod of approval and a quiet muttering of the words, “Yeah, that was fine.” The timing works out pretty well, actually, since we’ll be able to fit a review of the Noragami OVA into the week when everything else is ending. So look forward to that, you know, if you want to. It’s not really my job to tell you what you should or should not look forward to.

EDIT: Oh, hey, I nearly forgot the comics I said I was going to post in regard to the concept of females being reduced to how sexually attractive they are. Please note that the Bouletcorp comic has explicit language, and Gabby’s comic has both explicit language and imagery. So, like, don’t view them at work or in front of parents or something. Unless your parents are rad.

This isn’t what I meant when I said I wanted an audiobook.

On this week’s episode, Samurai Flamenco baffles me with its continued existence, Silver Spoon is surprisingly touching, and Larry and I discover that we have very different priorities when it comes to vacation destinations.

Sorry for the long delay on this one. Normally I like to keep a bit of space between episode uploads, but this one was so late I’ll just suck it up and put up the next one tomorrow.
