Probably not for long, though.

I'm finally caught up on editing Bakacast episodes. Hooray for me! Now to spend the rest of my life playing Phantom Pain. Goodbye, world. My PC is my home now.

About Dustin

Dustin (aka Stilts) enjoys playing and yelling at video games, especially RPGs. He also likes super robot shows... the more outrageous the plot, the better!

A comment on Shimoneta. Dustin brought up the “making sex doujin about real people” thing again wondering why the show keeps ignoring that as a bad thing. And I think that shows the complexity of sexual politics, because it’s not that the show (and presumably the light novel author) are ignoring it as it is that they disagree with you. They don’t think that’s over the line, and not everyone agrees on where exactly “the line” is. Which seems to be in a sense what this entire arc is about. Revolutionaries, even when they are revolting against something genuinely terrible, are often terrible people and often disagree even among themselves as exactly where the line is.

I honestly had no idea what you were talking about in Durarara when you started talking about Izaya raping someone. When you identified the red haired martial arts girl I was like, “Oh yeah…” I went back and looked at the actual dialogue. The martial artist brother says, “After what you did to my sister.” Izaya then says that he “doesn’t recall defiling” her. Then the brother says that it’s not a matter of “whether you ravaged Mikage” but what he’s actually mad at is that “thanks to your slick talk” she dropped out of school. Then Mikage intervenes and he asks if “she still has feelings” for Izaya. Then I guess there’s the part where you’re remembering where she accused him of “telling the world I was raped”.

I had taken that completely differently, as her saying that the sort of things he was shouting would give the impression that she had been raped when it wasn’t actually true. Particularly when the brother said several lines earlier that he was actually mad about her being forced/convinced to drop out of school and agreeing with Izaya that no sexual assault had happened.

Please have Aaron say this LN title the next time he is back on:
“Story in Which I Was Kidnapped by a Young Lady’s School to be a ‘Sample of the Common People'”.

PS Prison School is awesome. YMMV All that censoring is actually helping the humor to not be overpowered by fanservice, unlike that other boob-cutting show. You know what I’m talking about!
Now lets lose those briefs and put some boxers on these episodes.
