That’s one way to motivate a teenage mecha pilot.

Bakuon continues to exist as a show that we neither hate nor love, Hero Academy continues to be totally rad, Flying Witch continues to be the best show this season, and Gundam Unicorn continues to be filled with angst.

Bakacast #301 – Fangs for the Memories

Larry wins the Pun Olympics.

On this episode of Bakacast, I debut our new opening song composed by Mitchell Dill. It’s not the final version, but I figured it’d be fun to switch things up post-episode-300. Also, I reveal my plans for what the next season will bring. Basically, I’ll be taking a brief hiatus from the normal Bakacast schedule (since I’ve been watching, recording and editing for 6 years straight now). Instead of doing weekly reviews, I’ll instead be going through the first two arcs of JoJo’s with three people who’ve never watched the show before (plus Megan). These episodes will go up in place of the weekly episodes we’d normally put up for the summer season, and we’ll return to the normal Bakacast stuff when the fall season starts.

Now, this doesn’t mean you won’t get ANY summer reviews from us. Whether it takes the form of posts on this blog or short, additional recordings with Ben and Larry every three weeks or so, we’ll still be giving our thoughts on whatever summer shows we decided to watch.

Bakacast #299 – It’s Called SUPER LOVERS

Normally only light novel titles give you that obvious of a warning sign.

It took a while, but I promised you that Luke would review SUPER LOVERS; and by golly did I get him to review SUPER LOVERS. He definitely didn’t like it, but probably not for the reasons you might immediately suspect. After that, we take an Ice-inspired journey into Hulu’s anime selection, have more arguments about Bakugo from My Hero Academy, continue to be delighted by Flying Witch, and reminisce about how much fun Lelouch was in Code Geass.

I’m pledging my fealty early before the purging starts.

Finally, my backlog is clear. I have cleansed it with the holy fire of Audacity. Now my dark work can finally begin…

And we review some anime, I guess. I didn’t realize how much I missed Lelouch until I saw him in Akito the Exile.

However, they do not sparkle. They just murder.

On this episode of Bakacast, we discuss Hero Academy’s cardboard cut-out villain and how Uraraka is better than everyone else; Kabaneri’s strange use of bit characters; and how I might be a cat racist.

Also, thank you to Kenneth Alexander for the album art!
