Recently at the Tokyo Wonder Festival some new K-ON! figurines were revealed, in particular this awesome rendition of Hirasawa Yui by ALTER. I’m not a huge fan of K-ON! having lost interest in the series as it progressed, but when it comes to the figurines, I’m willing to reconsider…

As you can see, the detail and pose on Yui are quite the awesome, and her expression captures her personality perfectly. The Guitar also looks particularly detailed, which is sure to please Yui fans.

For those who fall into the Mio fandom camp, don’t despair as ALTER have also designed a new Mio figure as well.  However, I have already recieved opinions from some that she is somehow not as good as Yui. Indeed Mio’s figure does not seem to capture the same essence of the character as Yui’s, but regardless of opinions, both figurines look to be very well designed and of the quality that I have come to expect from ALTER.

It’s safe to say ALTER remains in the top tier for awesome figurines, and because of which both Mio and Yui will be pretty expensive. Mio ships out in November, with an online retail price of about $80USD.
