Good Smile have finally released some preview coloured photos of their yet to be released Senjougahara Hitagi figure. Now if you are like me and adore figures, you have been drooling over this since you caught that first glimpse of an unpainted prototype. So get ready to grab the napkin (or bucket) and behold! Figure Fever: Seena

One of the latest offerings from Goodsmile is the “Red Rose Cavalier” Seena, from the JRPG game Shining Wind. Before I delve any further into bluster about how I have already preordered Seena, it should be known by you, dear reader, that she is based on designs by the well known manga artist Tony Taka. Know of him? You should. A simple google search will “reveal” a huge amount about this fellow and his art. Explore his world, if you will, but be warned: you can never turn back. And don’t research his doings while you are at work either…be told. More after the jump…

Tokyo Animation Fair 2010

Just a short post before I make my way westwards in my journey of life and career. This year there have been lots of prototype figures released that all have the potential to blow my mind as well as my wallet; chief of whom is Senjogahara Hitagi from the SHAFT anime series Bakemonogatari.

Minori Chihara Sings For Haruhi Movie

We are really getting close to the cinema showing date for the up and coming film The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya and the trickle of news items is starting to increase. Minori Chihara, the voice behind Yuki Nagato, has appeared in a six minute long video of her song Yasashii Bōkyaku. While I personally find the song a bit whiny, the video depicts the scenes in Tokyo upon which the Suzumiya series were based in and around. Examples include the hill rising towards the school, the entrance area, the old clubhouse, etc.

Also, in other news Bandai Entertainment has licensed the DVD’s of the second season of Haruhi for the USA. Unfortunately, this also means another dub into English; a waste of time and effort which I frown upon. How anyone can listen and then favour the English dub over the original (and superior) Japanese casting is beyond me.

Do You Have Akiyama Mio On The Brain?

Okay, its been a few months now. My over inflated negative opinion on K-ON! has cooled a bit, such that now I can just appreciate the sheer merchandise cash cow the series has become. Even now, Kyo-ani are still milking away furiously with calloused fingers producing memorabilia like K-ON! backpacks. However while a lot of these products are just sheer wastes of  hard earned moula, this new figure of Akiyama Mio is drop-dead gorgeous. More after the jump.

Disappearance Sketches Appear…

Okay, so we do not yet have a trailer for the up and coming film, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Instead we have a newly released poster with some character sketches of the main characters in and around the SOS Brigade. Located in the margins, some lucky sod scanned the whole thing in high enough resolution for our viewing pleasure. See the sketches after the jump.

Awesome Director for Disappearance? Alas No…

You did not read ‘it’ here first. Nor did you read about it at any other website, such as Cartoon Leap or Anime News Network. In fact, you did not read ‘it’ at all. If you want to know what ‘it’ is, and therefore begin walking the path to further Kyo-ani/Kadokawa uneasiness, then read on…
