First off, I am not a fan of Nendoroids, as I’ve never really got into the whole ‘chibi’ thing. However, for those out there that enjoyed the YouTube miniseries The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya-chan, Goodsmile is willing to come to the table with a new Churuya Nendoroid. Churuya comes with all the extras you see in the photos so the lucky purchaser can faithfully create her signature ‘Nyoro~n’ pose, of which is the only thing she really is memorable for…

On the plus side, it is a GSC figure so it will have high quality sculpture and paint job, plus the facial expression captures Churuya’s lack-of-personality perfectly, so I can appreciate how true it is to the original character. However, her hair is too short and not in proportion (nendo-proportions, that is…)

Personally, I think the YouTube series was very much a ‘hit and a miss’ affair, with few memorable moments, all while we were waiting for the second season of Haruhi to begin. Kinda tragic in a way how things have turned out on that front, after all that waiting we have had eight weeks of meh. At least the arc is now over and we can look forward to something new next week.
