Bakacast #391 – My Internet is Trying to Kill Me

On this episode of Bakacast, editing became a nightmare, because my WiFi constantly cut out and I could never tell whether or not my cohosts were hearing me (or if they were even responding). However, I was able to find moments where I could talk about a few of the shows that we stuck with, thankfully.

Before we start our reviews, though, we take a moment to offer our thoughts about the KyoAni attack. We don’t go over the actual event in detail, because that’s already been covered extensively by proper news organizations and would feel far too morbid for a silly podcast like ours to delve into anyway. Instead, we talk briefly about what the studio meant to us and what made it unique. On this episode of Bakacast, we review the narrowed-down list we have for the Spring 2019 season. One Punch Man slows down a bit too much, Fairy Gone continues to be enjoyable (if somewhat baffling), Carole & Tuesday gets a bit goofy, Fruits Basket reminds us that it does have parts that don’t age well, and Sarazanmai slowly charms me.

On this episode of Bakacast, we go back to reviewing current anime for the Spring 2019 season, largely because we all really want to talk about Fruits Basket and One Punch Man. Also, Ikuhara and Watanabe are both directing new shows this season? Talk about an embarrassment of riches.

Okay? Okay.

On this episode of Bakacast, Ben takes the wheel because I wasn’t able to watch everything on time. I do, however, have things to say about One Punch Man, Owarimonogatari, and Perfect Insider, which are the truly the most important things in life. Also, Luke is back to actually talk about Aria AA this time!

Bakacast #277 – The Perfect Record

We don’t get many of these, so cherish them while they last.

This episode was originally going to come out days sooner, but then I got horribly, painfully sick with gastroenteritis! If you’re not sure what the hell that means, look it up. It’s fun. In short: I spent most of the weekend lying down in bed trying not to dehydrate. So, you know, not super conducive to podcast editing. I’m gonna try to get the episode we recorded last Thursday up before Christmas. I’m not sure if we’ll record another episode before Christmas, though, as the holiday schedules might not line up. If not, we’ll have another double-up episode like we did after Thanksgiving week.

Bakacast #276 – Surprise Harem Show

If there’s one thing I expect out of Gundam, it’s child brides.

We’re back from our Thanksgiving hiatus, and boy is there a lot of ground to cover. We keep the recording time pretty reasonable considering we had to double-up on shows, but Utawarerumono helped us out a bit by having not much going on. Instead, we spend most of our time praising Perfect Insider, arguing about Concrete Revolutio’s structure, and being mesmerized by Owarimonogatari’s background art.
