And only one of them is any good.

This Bakacast is really delayed, and I'm sorry about that. Life has been a bit hectic lately, particularly while I'm on the lookout for a new job. The next episode will likely be edited and up a couple days after this one, because I can't stand having a backlog anymore. As for the podcast itself, on this episode we question the new direction Utawarerumono has taken, examine the very interesting but flawed portrayal of depression in Owarimonogatari, invoke Tomino in Concrete Revolutio, and actually have an argument for once when Noragami Aragoto affects Ben and me in two very different ways.

During listener questions, I mention many of the media critics I follow. Here are the links I promised to y'all can check them out.

About Dustin

Dustin (aka Stilts) enjoys playing and yelling at video games, especially RPGs. He also likes super robot shows... the more outrageous the plot, the better!

Regarding One Punch Man and Saitama’s rating, I realized something when I gave it a second thought. There were literally hundreds of hero applicants, and Saitama and Genos were the only two who were accepted at all. It wasn’t that they were disrespecting Saitama by giving him a C ranking. I think that’s just where nearly every Hero starts, unless they have some kind of established record like Genos did. One of the Hero Association officials even comments later that given Saitama’s power, they expect he can rocket up through the rankings if he tries. They didn’t give him a C as in “you got an average grade”. They gave him a C because they recognized his potential out of all those other people who got turned away. That’s actually not too bad based on nothing more than proving he’s really strong and really fast.
