Figma Fever: Young Haruhi by Max Factory

Have you always wanted that diorama of both young and older version of Haruhi kicking Kyon’s ass? Well, wait no more! Max Factory has added to their Figma lineup by releasing a younger version of Haruhi Suzumiya for your enjoyment. In case you didn’t already know, this loli-Haruhi is from the Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody arc, one of the more pivotal episodes in the the second season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. More after the jump.

You have to hand it to the people at Max Factory; they know how to accurately transfer a 2D anime character to our 3D world. Something about how they capture the eyes and face makes the character come alive, plus with Figmas you can adjust their poses to suit your taste. The only difficulties you may have pairing the younger Haruhi with her older self is the lack of scaling. All Figmas are approximately 135mm in height, meaning young Haruhi will be the same size as her older variant. Buyers of Lucky Star Figmas may have already realised this when grouping Kagami with Konata, but do not be discouraged. My Konata looks fine beside her Kagamin, and in this case we shall have to wait until September to see for ourselves. One of my enduring favorite Figmas is the first ‘fully grown’ version of Haruhi, brought out a few years ago and still on my desk to this day, forever spiteful of how clumsily I write on this website.

Depending on availability, you can expect prices to start from 2,800yen. I can sense this Figure will just fly off the shelves, and it will only be a matter of time before we start seeing young Haruhi as a mascot for Danny Choo.
