The arc may have ended, but the aftershocks continue….
While hardcore fans are most definitely going to buy all of the four Endless Eight DVDs, some people may point out that each DVD contains only two episodes; that each DVD will be retailing for $70 USD apiece; and that overall they say each DVD is a complete and utter waste of money until a box set comes out.
But not us at Project Haruhi! No siree!

Yes, for those of us in the southern (and superior) hemisphere, Summer is on its way! Discounting the fact that it is currently summer up there in Japan and those “other” countries, Goodsmile have brought out a new range of Lucky Star Figmas.
My personal world of figurine worship has just become a whole lot more awesome with the arrival of the Kotobukiya figurine of Haruhi Suzumiya. I have had my eyes on this figurine ever since she was released to the drooling market in October of 2008, and indeed my initial thoughts are “She is awesome”.
Recently at the Tokyo Wonder Festival some new K-ON! figurines were revealed, in particular this awesome rendition of Hirasawa Yui by ALTER. I’m not a huge fan of K-ON! having lost interest in the series as it progressed, but when it comes to the figurines, I’m willing to reconsider…
The first DVD release for the current season of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu has been announced for release in September. Titled ‘Sasa no Ha Rhapsody’ it will comprise of one episode and plenty of special features, totaling a run time of 43 minutes. This DVD package will contain some goodies as well, namely a postcard, coaster and bookmark. Special features on the DVD include TV spots, Aya Hirano music videos, and the first song album.
‘Sasa no Ha Rhapsody’, or ‘Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody’ in English, was our first taste of a new season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and it was a sight for sore eyes. A DVD release of this episode is welcomed, however this begs to question how the ‘Endless Eight’ arc that is airing currently will be released on DVD.

Why am I not reviewing the current series of Haruhi? Despite being completely bonkers over figurine design (fawning over a new Haruhi-in-a-bikini figure) the current series definitely is not living up to expectations. The current arc, ‘Endless Eight’ is, well… endless. So far there have been four, I repeat FOUR, episodes with zero plot development. Just the same episode and story over and over and over and over…
