Machines Love K-On! Too

The benevolent machine overlords of this world wish to inform you inferior organics that, despite our vast superiority, we are not above enjoying K-On! and its music. As proof, we have created our own version of the Don’t Say Lazy song, which we trust you will find quite pleasing to your audio receptors. Our data suggests it is 900 to 1200 times better than any song a human could create.

Empire Suggests Britney For Ailing Stormtroopers

In an apparent move to raise the esprit de corps, the Empire has made it mandatory for Stormtroopers to undergo dance therapy. We have already seen Stormtroopers take to the streets of Tokyo and eagerly dance the Carmelldansen, or mime the OP to K-On!, much to the delight of Empire psychiatrists. Ever a Britney Spears fan, this soldier is ready and willing to show off his moves to the pop stars single “Circus”, albeit in the comfort of his own home and not in the way of peak hour traffic.

The Empire commends you, Soldier! You are working hard to make your workplace a more positive environment! This way you will live to lose another battle with the Rebel scum another day!

Vocaloid Meets K-On! and World Domination Ensues

It had to happen, didn’t it? Sooner or later a MAD would appear that would combine the fan(atic) groups of people who love K-On! and Vocaloid. This fan-made vid stars Hatsune Miku, Rin, Len, and Megurine Lukka of Vocaloid fame singing the popular OP of the K-On! series ‘Cagayake! Girls’. I might point out the obvious and say that they are not only just singing, but have completely replaced Mio, Yui, Mugi and Ritsu (ignoring Azusa) in this version. If successful, this marriage of the two fangroups (Vocaloid x K-On!) will lead to massive internet propagation, fan hysteria, mass foaming at the mouth, rioting, and I am afraid to say, world domination.

Watch this space, it may become a last safe haven…

A Stormtrooper in Akihabara

A stormtrooper named Danny Choo was recently spotted in Akihabara, along with BBC filming crews. Although the trooper attempted to join the girls from K-On! in a musical number, he was rejected once they discovered the only instrument he played was the “thermal detonator”. Nevertheless, the trooper seemed to enjoy his visit.

She’s Turning Japanese

Movie star Kirsten Dunst, most famous for her role as Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man film series, was spotted recently in Akihabara… and it appears that she’s gone local.

Apparently, she was starring in a video being filmed by McG, the director of Terminator Salvation. Although the nature of this project is unknown, it will be screened at an exhibition later this year in London.

More images of Kirsten’s crazy cosplay, as well as an opinion poll, can be found below.

Gundam Love

This otaku couple, who (along with their children) are huge Gundam fans, were the lucky winners of a matrimony contest and got the chance to take their wedding vows in front of Odaiba’s life-sized RX-78-2 Gundam. Naturally, local Japanese TV news picked up on the story…

Mio the 13th

Famed mass murderer Jason Voorhees, most famous for his critically acclaimed Friday the 13th series of horror films, has apparently been wooed by K-On!’s unstoppable moe power. He is now using his considerable experience with chainsaws to create anime-themed chainsaw sculptures, including one of Mio Akiyama.

The hillbilly otaku community must be rejoicing. Perhaps midwestern microbreweries will start producing Mio beer next? Moe moe *burp*!

End of Summer

With many people (including myself) going back to school, it appears that the end of the seemingly endless summer is finally at hand. It’s been quite an interesting season, hasn’t it? We’ve seen the good, the bad, the ugly, and the just plain weird. We’ve laughed, cried, and stared in dumbfounded horror. But, above all else, we had a lot of fun.

To celebrate the end of this amazing season, Haruhi is here to give us one final summer treat.
